Bahrain, October 2007 (part 2 - the Hotel)

OK,ok, a “bit” late, but here is part 2 from our Bahrain tour in October (and yes, there will be at least one more part ;) )

This time when we arrived at the airport, we didn’t forget to pick up our luggage, but when we got out of the airport there was Noone to pick us up either.
A few Phone calls and 20 minutes later the guy from the Novotel Al-Dana Resort picked us up. Better late then never ;).
We had a pleasant and quick ride to the Hotel, a quick Check-In and a beautiful room to rest in.

(Not my Best pictures ever…oh well…. ;) )

Al Dana Resort, Bahrain - Novotel

Once again we had a great view to the little Hotel beach and the ocean (well, and the Fish restaurant at the other side, but that didn’t bug me).

Beach with Bar (where I had an interesting conversation with a Hotel employee who was running around with a neat Nikon D40 I think. He was shooting for the Hotel brochure, but didn’t really have a clue and asked ME for Tips, grin…… )

The Hotel areal is gorgeous.

A beautiful Pool area, lots of flowers, a big Fitness Center, good Restaurants & two Bars (one at the Beach and one at the Pool), friendly staff (a little understaffed though, especially during breakfast times, coughcough).
We had a great time though :).
Met a lot of interesting people as well. Saudis and Kuwaitis mainly. Interesting conversations as well.

It was early morning and humid - the original shot was pretty grey, so I played a bit ;)

Lovely! I love Bahrain. I very much prefer it to Dubai because I get to see the people of the country and you feel the culture, you know? That pool is really beautiful!
But that picture of the lady in the water is kinda funny.. she’s supposed to be coverd up but her legs are out lol. Well, no one will know who she is anyways ;)

  3. rainmountain Says:

I’ve not been to Dubai yet.
I wanna go before we leave here though.
My next Visa run will be end of January. Maybe it will be Dubai (and a new camera) then ;)

Yes, if we go back to Bahrain, we def. will go to this Novotel again. It was gorgeous!!

And the Lady, yeah, it was too good of an opportunity to let it go.
If anybody would tell me who she is, I would ask her / take the pic down.
But I doubt anyone will know. :)

Really great pics Nicole. I love the one with the lady and the kids. Maybe you should offer to sell some pix to the hotel ;)

  6. rainmountain Says:

    Thanks, Cor :)!

Naa, Sous, I rather borrow their D40 for the next Dolphin Tour and take pictures of their place for free :P

The hotel looks cool! Bahrain reminds me of Kuwait somehow, but sounds like you had fun.

  8. rainmountain Says:

Yepp, I’m sure it’s a lot like Kuwait when you live there, but to me it always seems friendlier and more open minded…..
    oh well ;)

Your hotel picks are awesome…I hope you gave them to the hotel for their Brochure? Makes me want to travel asap.

  12. Nicole Says:

    Thanks, Chris.
No, I haven’t, they had their own employee running around, taking pictures, asking me for some tips though.
Made me grin, he was the one running around with a D40 :D
Glad you like the pics :)

  13. Chris the Photography Job Expert Says:

Ahh…I see you said that in your post…whoops! Either way their great. Seems to me you could setup a nice new categorie for ‘vacation pics’ or something of the like. Even if it’s only this post it still makes me want to book a ticket!

  14. Nicole Says:

    Grin, no problem.

I have something like that in my web-page section (www.NicoleB.org).

It just takes forever to get the pictures now all on my own server and all this stuff over there in the various categories.
Oh well, Rome wasn’t built in one day either, no? :)

Have a good day, Nicole :)

  15. Chris the Photography Job Expert Says:

Rome definitely wasn’t built in a day…at least that’s what I’ve been told. More importantly Rome can’t be enjoyed in just on day…probably not in one month!

Anyway, sorry you have me thinking of traveling now so I can’t help it.

  16. Nicole Says:

I understand - I am ready to hop again too :D
