My hometown – I thought it might be a nice idea to show you a bit where I grew up and give you a virtual tour in the next few days

Mein Heimatort – Ich dachte, es waere eine ganz nette Idee, Euch etwas von der Ecke zu zeigen, wo ich aufgewachsen bin und in den naechsten Tagen eine kleine virtuelle Tour zu machen
Kuwait haengt mir ein klein wenig zum Hals heraus. Es ist einfach zu warm und ich mag auch grade keine Bilder von hier hochladen

Anyway, this is Mayen, a small town in the Eifel region in Germany.
That’s where I was born and raised. I stayed there until I was 19, then moved on. My Mom still lives nearby and the parents of my best friend as well.
That’s how I ended up being there this year and finally take some pictures of the place.

This is the market place area with a fountain and the mayor’s office. The thing with the crooked, twisted tower is a Church which is popular for that. They say that the devil twisted it

Egal, das hier ist Mayen, ein kleines Staedtchen in der Eifel in Deutschland.
Das ist, wo ich geboren wurde und aufgewachsen bin. Ich bin bis zu meinem 19ten Lebensjahr dort geblieben und dann weitergezogen. Meine Mama lebt noch in der Region, sowie die Eltern meiner besten Freundin. So bin ich dann in diesem Jahr in meinem Urlaub bei Muttern und Freundin auch dort gelandet und konnnte endlich einmal Bilder knipsen. Danke dem reichlich bescheidenen Wetter zwar nicht alles, was ich wollte und so wie ich es wollte, aber dennoch habe ich einiges in den Kasten bekommen
Auf dem Bild hier seht ihr den Marktplatz, mit Brunnen und Rathaus. Im Hintergrund das Teil mit dem gedrehten Turm ist eine Kirche. Man sagt, dass der Teufel den Turm verdreht hat.

This is the shopping street area and my favorite jewelery shop. They make all their stuff themselves and that’s where we got our marriage rings
